In the Victorian era, it was thought that the woman’s place is at home. Their career was marriage and her prime was making a large family. Women were thought as frail creatures who couldn’t fend for themselves. When women were married, their rights would be given to their husbands in a sense that she was his property. During this time, men had very low expectations for women, while they did everything around the house. The women did the cooking, the cleaning, raising the children, although they weren’t allowed to do may other things. In Dracula, the women were forced to stay behind while the men risked their lives to protect them.
